The Chicago Bulls are hoping they can turn the corner and become a serious playoff contender in the Eastern Conference during the 2024-25 season.

This season they went 39-43 but failed to make the playoffs as they finished as the ninth seed. The Bulls fell to the Miami Heat 112-91 in the play-in battle for the eighth seed.

Now DeMar DeRozan is expected to become a free agent but he shed some light on where he wants to play basketball next season.

Bulls News: DeMar DeRozan Wants To Be in Chicago

DeRozan signed a three-year, $81 million deal with Chicago in 2021 but he is now slated to become a free agent this offseason.

He was a guest on 'RunItBackFDTV' and spoke on wanting to stay in Chicago.

"The city is great, I love the city, the organization been great—it's definitely a place I would love to return to, and take care of unfinished business."

DeMar DeRozan

This would be great news for the Bulls as he's been the best player on the team for the past three years.

Over three seasons with Chicago, DeRozan averaged 25.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Even though Chicago only made the playoffs once over the past three years, the 34-year-old sounds like he wants to turn things around in the Windy City.

After falling to the Heat in the 8/9 matchup in the NBA Play-In Tournament, DeRozan casted some doubt on a potential return to Chicago.

In a postgame presser on April 19, DeRozan said, "My stance on wanting to be here is still the same but I just want to win. More than anything, just have the opportunity to win."

That created some worry, as the Bulls have gone 125-121 since 2021 but never made it past the first round of the playoffs.

Regardless of their past struggles, DeRozan would love to head back to Chicago.
