3. Questionable Coaching Decisions Continue

After all the offseason acquisitions the Bears made fans and the media bought into the idea of the team improving this season. While that's still a possibility after only two weeks, the in-game decision making by head coach Matt Eberflus still seems like it could be an issue.

Last season, Eberflus make many head scratching calls. The worst of which was dropping defensive tackle Justin Jones into coverage on David Njoku in the fourth quarter of their Week 15 game against the Browns. While nothing that bad happened against the Texans he did challenge two plays the clearly didn't need to be challenged.

The first play Eberflus challenged was Stefon Diggs 21 yards sideline catch. in the second quarter Watching the replay of the catch you can clearly tell Diggs got both feet down with a toe drag.

The other play that Eberflus challenged was a potential interception by Kyler Gordon in the third quarter. In real time it did look like Gordon came down with an interception, but watching the replay once or twice it's easy to see that the ball hits the ground.

While Eberflus does get guidance from the booth on whether to challenge a play or not, it's ultimately his decision to throw the flag down. In both of these scenarios, Eberflus needs to watch the replay on the big screen closer and not throw the red flag. Deciding not to throw the challenge flag would have a=saved the Bears two timeouts.

Although it might not have made a huge difference in this game, mistakes like these are what keep teams from winning big games.
