3 Bears Who Will Be Traded by the End of October

The Chicago Bears are 2-2 to begin the 2024 NFL season. However, if they begin to trend in the wrong direction, these three players could be traded soon.

The first month of the 2024 NFL season is in the rearview and the Chicago Bears have a 2-2 record to show for it. After facing the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars in the next two weeks, the Bears will go on their Week 7 bye before making a push for this year's playoffs.

Having said that, a postseason appearance is far from guaranteed — especially when the Bears haven't made the playoffs since 2020. While Matt Eberflus' team has shown promise at points this year, there's always the chance that Chicago could fall out of playoff contention if things don't go as planned.

If the Bears are looking to shake up their roster soon (for better or worse), these three players could be traded before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

1. Keenan Allen, WR

The Bears made various big-time moves throughout the NFL offseason, including the acquisition of Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen. The veteran wideout was one of several pass-catchers brought in to help make 2024 first-overall pick Caleb Williams' life as easy as possible.

Not only did the trade shock Bears fans, though, but it also caught Allen by surprise. ESPN reported in March that the move "blindsided" the six-time Pro Bowl playmaker, especially since he made it clear that he didn't want to leave the Los Angeles Chargers two months earlier.

Unfortunately, Allen's early time with the Bears has left much to be desired. The former California product has barely moved the needle offensively, catching just 7-of-14 (50.0%) targets for 48 receiving yards and three first downs through four games. For reference, Allen finished with more yards than that in all but one of his 12 games last season.

Judging by his lack of production and status as a pending free agent, it isn't shocking that Allen's name is involved in trade deadline rumors. With wideout-related injuries popping up around the NFL, teams would love to add a six-time 1,000-yard receiver to their offense.

Some Bears fans would be happy if Allen stuck around, however, it might be best for the two sides to get a fresh start. Besides, it's better to get something back in a trade for Allen rather than letting him walk for free in March.
