Injury-Prone Bear Officially Missing First Game of 2024
The Chicago Bears received both good and bad news about their offensive line heading into their Week 11 division clash with the Green Bay Packers. The good news is that both left tackle Braxton Jones and right tackle Darnell Wright will be back.
Unfortunately, the Bears will be without left guard Teven Jenkins. Jenkins injured his ankle last week against the New England Patriots and then did not participate this week in practice.
Bears News: Teven Jenkins to miss his first game of the season due to ankle injury
Jenkins entered the 2024 season in the final year of his rookie contract. Despite Jenkins looking dominant at points in his career, general manager Ryan Poles had questions on whether he could stay healthy. As a result, Jenkins needed to use this season to prove his worth.
Before the season started, Jenkins told the media he was going to tough out and play through injuries. That has been true for most of the season, as it seems Jenkins exits at least once per game with an injury but always comes back.
This week, though, Jenkins won't have that chance to do that since he was ruled out before game time. Replacing Jenkins at left guard on Sunday will be Ryan Bates.
Although six games reamin after this week, the future for Jenkins in Chicago doesn't seem to bright. With all the injuries Jenkins has already sustained this season it wouldn't be surprising if Poles has already decided to move on.
