The Chicago Bears are going through a significant transformation this offseason. After one of the most disappointing seasons in recent franchise history, the Bears are revamping their coaching staff, casting a wide net in their head coaching search.

While the Bears are desperately looking for their next head coach, one former player revealed that he would be interested in returning to the organization. Greg Olsen, in his latest appearance on ESPN Chicago's Waddle & Silvy, made his case for why he would be a good addition to the front office or the coaching staff.

NFL News: Greg Olsen Wants to Return to the League as a Coach or Executive

This is a surprising development as Olsen has been a notable color commentator on Fox Sports since his retirement in 2021. For the last few years, Olsen was the No. 1 duo on Fox alongside Kevin Burkhardt, calling the Super Bowl broadcast. Then, Tom Brady joined Fox Sports, and Olsen was demoted to a somewhat less prominent role.

The former star tight end was confident in his ability to work for a team. He said that his lack of coaching and front office experience doesn't matter and he would put his NFL experience up there with anybody in the last two decades.

Olsen is generally correct in his assessment. If experience really mattered that much, there wouldn't be an endless coaching and front-office carousel every offseason.

The 39-year-old certainly had an illustrious playing career that he could put up next to any tight end. After being Chicago's first-round pick in 2007, Olsen spent four years with the franchise. He was traded to the Panthers after a dispute with offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Olsen immediately became one of the best tight ends in the game and made three straight Pro Bowls in Carolina.

Bears fans still have high regard for Olsen and resent Martz and the team for that trade. Olsen coming back in any role would almost certainly be welcome in Chicago.
