Former Chicago Bears corner Thomas Graham Jr. wasted no time making an impression on his new team over the weekend. Graham was added to the Baltimore Ravens roster in an effort to make it through the final game of the preseason. The defender took advantage of the opportunity, picking off a pass in the red zone and giving Baltimore its third interception of the day. It was a great moment for a player whose path has been consistently rocky since leaving Chicago.

Graham made his debut with the Bears, spending the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the franchise after being selected in the sixth round. When it was clear that there wasn't going to be a future with the Bears, the team moved on with the defender spending time on the practice squad of both the Steelers and Browns over the next two seasons. Now, Graham has been given a late chance to make a run at another practice squad role.

Even the impressive turnover isn't going to earn the corner a spot on Baltimore's roster. The Ravens are simply too talented at the position and have other options that spent more time in camp with the franchise. For Graham, the hope is that the big play will spark enough interest to give him a shot at making the practice squad.

Former Bears Defender Makes Highlight Play in Baltimore's Preseason Finale

The NFL's official account tweeted the play that saw the former Bear perfectly undercut the route in the end zone and complete the catch. It was a nice play, but a ball that you will rarely see thrown in regular-season action. It was an awful decision that perfectly set up a highlight play for a defender who badly needed a defining moment in his lone preseason action.

Chicago shouldn't have any regrets when it comes to parting ways with the draft pick. It was the right decision, and that has been evidenced by the frustrating path the corner's career has continued to take. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Graham soon fall out of the league altogether.

The best shot of this not happening is taking advantage of this play and finding a way to make Baltimore's practice squad. For what is a loaded roster that would be an impressive accomplishment within itself. One that is at least on the table after Graham's impressive play.
