"I would say I'm not necessarily second-guessing coach or anything like that. Obviously, getting a new coach, you're wondering how you're going to gel on game day, how things are going to work out. He was probably wondering the same thing going into Week 1, and so I would say that's the biggest thing: the confidence in myself, the playbook and the things that I know and recognizing defenses, checking the ball down, getting the ball to my guys' hands, delivering a good ball. The first thing that jumps out about this statement is how much chemistry Williams has with Ben Johnson. It isn't just knowing the plays, but a level of established trust between the duo. The quarterback has earned the confidence of Johnson, and this works both ways, as Williams is pointing out. Having such a high level of trust is why there is an undeniable level of expectations around the league for the Bears.
