Caleb Williams Makes Surprising Ryan Poles Statement
The Chicago Bears rolled into the 2024 season with high expectations, and things came crashing down hard. The Bears were 4-2 entering Week 8 but have dropped seven straight games.
Last week, they were blown out by the San Francisco 49ers 38-13 in Thomas Brown's first game as the interim coach.
The Bears parted ways with Matt Eberflus on Nov. 29 after he finished his Chicago tenure with a 14-32 record. Chicago decided to keep Ryan Poles as GM even though he made the decision to hire Eberflus.
Poles will be sticking around as the Bears find their new head coach but he has the support of the players on the team, including rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
Bears News: Caleb Williams Has Faith in Ryan Poles
Williams was asked about their relationship on Thursday and gave a vote of confidence for Poles.
"I'd say it's grown. Obviously you get to be around him in the same facility, not just him stopping by your school or whatever the case may be. Being able to be in person, being able to be around him in the building, it builds that relationship that we have. All faith and belief in those people upstairs. They've been doing a great job, and [hope is] to continue that."

That isn't a surprising statement, considering Poles made Williams the No. 1 overall pick. The 39-year-old made sure to have playmakers around the USC product with DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Keenan Allen, and D'Andre Swift.
Despite those additions, the offensive production hasn't been able to match it. A lot of the problems have to do with the coaching, and Poles will have another chance to bring in a new head coach.
Thankfully, he has the trust of the locker room, including his franchise QB. That's a big thing as the Bears head into a crucial offseason.
