Caleb Williams' Dad Puts Extra Pressure on Bears Amid Coaching Search
The Chicago Bears are in the middle of one of their most important head coaching searches in franchise history. Although many people thought this a few years ago with Justin Fields, Caleb Williams proved to be something special during his rookie season. Now, the organization must finally help a quarterback reach their maximum potential.
That said, the Bears have a terrible track record of bringing in competent coaching. For instance, the Bears decided to hire Matt Eberflus over Dan Quinn two seasons ago. Look at how that's turned out; Quinn has the Washington Commanders in the conference championship in his first season as head coach.
Bears players, fans, and parents of players all seem to understand how important it is to find the correct head coach. Carl Williams, Caleb's father, echoed this sentiment by quote-tweeting a post from Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times that read, " If Jayden Daniels is a one-read quarterback, it seems like his first read is always open.," with the hashtag "#coachingmatters" on Sunday.

While Caleb Williams didn't have a bad statistical rookie season, it was not what many expected. Williams finished his rookie season with 4,030 total yards (3,541 passing and 489 rushing), 20 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 62.4% completion percentage.
Despite having decent numbers, Williams will always be compared to other quarterbacks from his draft class, most notably Jayden Daniels. Daniels has had a magnificent rookie season, leading the Commanders to the playoffs alongside Quinn. His success this season shows how a good head coach offensive coordinator duo can significantly impact a young quarterback.
Nevertheless, that's been a tried and true formula in the NFL for decades. The Bears just never seem to hire the right people. Shane Waldron was their latest offensive coordinator fail this season, which seems to have put Williams's development behind the preverbal eight ball significantly.
Thankfully, it seems Carl Williams and Bears fans won't have to wait much longer to find out Chicago's next head coach as a decision is likely to be made this week.
