The Chicago Bears held head coach Ben Johnson's introductory press conference on Wednesday morning. Of course, Bears fans tuned in to this event because they were excited to hear what Johnson had to say.

Johnson opened his press conference thanking both the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears organization. After thanking both organizations, Johnson shifted focus to why he took the job as Bears head coach. Providing three reasons, he said talked about why this organization is special and how he could envision a future here.

Bears News: Ben Johnson Reveals Why He Took Chicago Job

Johnson's three points of contention for accepting the head coaching job are all logical. First off, Johnson called the Chicagoland area special, and he wants to raise his kids here. Like many other cities, Chicago has diehard sports fans.

However, what makes Chicago fans different is that no matter how bad their teams are, they will show up to games, even if it is to a team's detriment sometimes. Furthermore, the Chicagoland area has some good schooling, which helps in raising kids.

Secondly, as Johnson said, the Bears' roster is loaded with talent. That is why so many people were surprised with how much the team fell off after losing to the Washington Commanders. Given his track record, Johnson should be able to maximize the talent on the Bears roster better than the last regime.

Last and probably most importantly, Johnson wanted to stay in the toughest division in football. Some Bears fans needed to hear this after speculating he wouldn't want to stay in this tough of a division.

When talking about the division, Johnson also mentioned how he enjoys beating Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers twice a year.

Hearing this should bring massive excitement to Bears fans. Chicago has only beaten their hated rival once in the last six seasons, and that was in Week 18 this year. If Johnson is able to continue his winning ways against Green Bay as head coach, he will earn fan support very quickly.

Ultimately, Johnson's reasons for taking the Bears job aren't surprising, given how competitive he seems to be. That said, now it's time for him to get to work on building relationships with the players and improving the team
