The Chicago Bears will likely be in the market for a new head coach after firing Matt Eberflus in Week 13. Eberflus was disastrous this season as Chicago’s head coach and struggled to get this team to a playoff appearance in his three-year tenure.

Chicago turned the head coaching duties over to interim offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, which looked like a good move. But the Bears suffered their seventh-straight loss on Sunday, falling to the San Francisco 49ers 38-13.

Even if Brown can inject some life into this team and lead them to a few wins, the Bears will try to find a new head coach who can get this roster to the playoffs in 2025.

According to Jonathon Jones of CBS Sports, he believes that the Bears, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints all want to interview Mike Vrabel. Vrabel is currently a consultant on the Cleveland Browns’ coaching staff after he was fired by the Tennessee Titans last season.

Jones also reports that sources strongly believe Vrabel will get another head coaching job. The NFL insider thinks Vrabel would prefer to go to a team with an established or veteran GM.

The Bears have an established GM in Ryan Poles, who made several moves over the last two years to put this team in position. Things haven’t panned out for Chicago, but maybe Vrabel can be the person to change the mindset and philosophy in the Windy City.

In his six seasons with the Titans, Vrabel had four winning seasons and made the playoffs three times. The last time the Bears made the playoffs was in 2020 with Matt Nagy. Chicago went 8-8 during that season and lost 21-9 to the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card.

Based on the GM situation and overall roster construction, Vrabel could be the perfect candidate for the Bears. Even though things do not look good for the Bears, they have a much better future than the Jets and Saints, who must overhaul their rosters.
