The Chicago Bears took advantage of the trade market and free agency to revamp the interior of their offensive line this offseason. Chicago traded for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson and signed center Drew Dalman. While that leaves no questions about the interior heading into the 2025 season, fans are curious about who the left tackle will be.

Currently, Braxton Jones is slated to be the starting left tackle in 2025. However, at the NFL combine, general manager Ryan Poles said the spot was open for competition. That said, the former fifth-round pick suffered a serve ankle injury in Week 16 that resulted in him being placed on injured reserve.

Although it was reported that he would be fine in time for training camp soon after the injury, many are still questioning his health. Luckily, on Tuesday, Jones cleared up some of these doubts with an Instagram post that showed that he was out of his boot.

Braxton Jones Shares Positive Injury Update

Jones being out of the walking boot shouldn't surprise anyone. As mentioned above, it was initially reported he would be back for the start of training camp, and this update puts him on that track.

Despite Jones's health being right on track, the Bears are likely still considering adding a left tackle in the draft. Names like LSU's Will Campbell and Missouri's Armand Membou come to mind. Furthermore, Chicago still has last year's third-round pick, Kiran Amegadjie, as an option.

No matter what the outcome is, watching how the left tackle position unfolds during training camp will be fascinating.
