Bears Starter Admits Team is Giving Up on Matt Eberflus
By Cem Yolbulan
The Chicago Bears are officially at the lowest point of their season. It had been an up-and-down year with Caleb Williams under center for Chicago until the wheels completely came off in the last two weeks. The loss against the Cardinals was embarrassing enough before the worst defeat of the season came in Week 10 against the Patriots.
When you only score three points against a 2-7 team at home, there will naturally be a ton of blame to go around. The lion's share of that blame understandably goes to head coach Matt Eberflus.
The fans and the media have already been pointing fingers at Eberflus. Now, the players are beginning to show signs of a lack of trust in the coaching staff. When asked about it after Sunday's loss, veteran safety Kevin Byard refused to say that the team still believed in Eberflus, per ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Things had already taken a turn for the worse in Week 8 when the Bears lost to the Commanders on a Hail Mary TD. Shane Waldron's play call for handoff to offensive lineman Doug Kramer, coupled with terrible execution, cost the Bears a very winnable game.
After that game, there have been a few voices, including star receiver DJ Moore, who expressed their discontentment with the coaching staff. Now, Kevin Byard is emphasizing what Bears fans already know about the relationship between the locker room and Matt Eberflus.
There will almost certainly be changes in Chicago as the team is about to face a brutal schedule, with the Packers, Vikings, Lions, and the 49ers up next. Whether that includes Matt Eberflus or a coordinator remains to be seen but things aren't looking good for the Bears and their postseason prospects.
