3 Bears Whose Stock is Falling After Week 10 Loss to Patriots
All hope for the Chicago Bears this season has officially been lost after losing to the New England Patriots 19-3.
From not being able to score a single touchdown on offense to failing to stop what had been a struggling Patriots offense, the Bears had a bad day.
With that in mind, here are three Bears whose stock is falling after losing to the Patriots.
1. Tyrique Stevenson
From getting burnt in coverage to committing stupid mistakes, Tyrique Stevenson has continued to make bone-headed plays in his second season. His most egregious yet was not paying attention on the Hail Mary in Week 8 against the Washington Commanders.
The Bears have let that mistake derail their season, losing their last two games. Stevenson, on the other hand, was punished with not getting the start against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9.
After receiving his punishment, Stevenson was back in the starting lineup this week against the Patriots. Nevertheless, Stevenson's performance against the Patriots has left many people questioning his future with the team.
The play in question for Stevenson was the Patriots' only touchdown of the day. On this play, Stevenson got his eye caught in the backfield, which allowed Ja'Lynn Polk to score a wide-open touchdown.
While all NFL players, especially young ones, have plays like this, it's concerning for Stevenson, given his track record. Being a year and a half into his NFL career, Stevenson should be steadily improving, and yet he isn't.
While some of the blame for Stevenson's lack of development can be put on coaching, he needs to take some accountability and initiative to get better. So far, it has seemed like Stevenson is ok with where he is at, which is alarming.
If this continues, Terell Smith might fully replace Steenson at cornerback instead of rotating with him.
