The Chicago Bears have their first week of training camp in the books. There are several storylines that took place, with the biggest ones around quarterback Caleb Williams. The offense had some trouble getting lined up in Wednesday's practice and the latest report suggests he has some maturing to do.
It's early, so there is still room for growth, but at the same time, rookie offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo continues to impress on and off the field. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle was speaking to reporters on Friday and said, "He's a rookie but feels like a veteran," when speaking about Trapilo.

Bears OT Ozzy Trapilo Gets Praise From Offensive Coordinator
Left tackle Braxton Jones is recovering from a fractured fibula that he suffered at the end of last season and is still ramping up. That has allowed Trapilo to get some run in with the first team, and he's taking full advantage.
That is just a continuation of what he started building in the spring. During OTAs, he took plenty of reps with the first team and held his own in those sessions.
This is exactly what Chicago wanted to see after nabbing Trapilo with the 56th overall pick. He was a three-year starter at Boston College, and during his time there, he spent time at both right and left tackle.
He can jump out of his stance as a blocker and has the strength to overpower defenders. Despite still needing to grow, he's off to a great start.
Considering that Braxton Jones is also entering the last year of his rookie deal and has dealt with multiple injuries over the last couple of seasons, there could be a pathway to Trapilo getting on the field. Whether that's to begin the season or later in the year remains to be seen. Jones has missed at least five games in two straight years, so if that trend continues, Trapilo would be someone who steps in.
There are still several weeks of camp left, along with preseason games on the horizon, where Trapilo can continue building on what he's done. The 23-year-old is on the right path as his coaches are taking notice of his play and demeanor.
