Last offseason, the Chicago Bears traded for veteran wide receiver Kennan Allen. Acquiring Allen was meant to help rookie quarterback Caleb Williams's development as a rookie. Unfortunately, Allen had a lackluster 2024 season, recording 70 receptions on 121 targets for 744 yards and seven touchdowns while also recording six drops.

Although Allen's down 2024 season wasn't all on him, his drops were uncharacteristic and will probably lead to the end of his time in Chicago. As a result, the Bears will be in the market for a wide receiver No.3 this offseason.

Bears fans assume that new head coach Ben Johnson will be looking to find a speedy wide receiver No.3. While the Bears already have a speedy receiver in Tyler Scott, his issues dropping the ball led to him not seeing the field much last season. For that reason, many believe Scott will be buried on the depth chart again in 2025.

That said, there are a few fairly cheap, speedy wide receiver options for the Bears to add this offseason. Former Perdue receiver Rondale Moore is among those options. Let's take a look at why he would be an intriguing addition to the Bears.

Could Rondale Moore Be a Chicago Bear in 2024?

Moore was selected with the 49th pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Coming out of Perdue, Moore was projected to be a speedy slot receiver. The then 21-year-old ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at his pro day and had good measurables.

Nevertheless, Moore has yet to make a considerable impact in the NFL due to injuries. In three seasons, Moore has played in 39 games (starting in 23) and recorded 135 receptions on 182 targets for 1,201 and three touchdowns.

In addition to his production in the receiving game, Moore also has 52 rushing yards and a touchdown. While that's not much, it gives Johnson another wrinkle for which to use him. The 24-year-old's reliable hands and decent output when healthy would provide another nice weapon for the Bears offense.

Be that as it may, if the Bears sign Moore, it will be his third team in four seasons. This past year, he played for the Atlanta Falcons after the Cardinals traded him away during the 2024 offseason. Therefore, he likely won't demand that much money,

According to Spotrac, Moore's projected contract is a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. Handing out this contract seems like a worthwhile risk for the Bears. If Moore is able to stay on the field and produce like he did in Arizona, then Chicago will find a young receiver to be a part of their core going forward. If not, it's not like the contact puts the Bears in cap trouble.

It will be interesting to see if Johnson and the Bears have an eye on Moore this offseason.
