All the focus is now on the 2025 season. The planning for that campaign begins with the Super Bowl in the books.

The Chicago Bears have already put their attention over to next season when they named Ben Johnson their new head coach. He's used the last couple of weeks to fill out his coaching staff but other teams around the league are still poaching coaches and executives from opposing teams.

And the Bears are in danger of losing someone in their front office. According to Albert Breer, Chicago assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is set to interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars' vacant general manager position. Breer added that Cunningham has been a steady candidate for the gig ever since Liam Coen became their head coach.

Bears News: Ian Cunningham Will Interview for Jags GM Opening

Cunningham has been in the league since 2008. He's been with the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles. The Texas native has held different titles as personnel assistant, area scout, director of college scouting, assistant director of player personnel, and director of player personnel.

When landing with the Bears in 2022, Cunningham was named their assistant general manager.

Cunningham isn't new to these GM interviews. He's been passed over by the Tennessee Titans twice for GM (2023 & 2024) after being named a finalist. He also interviewed for the Washington Commanders GM opening last year but lost that role to Adam Peters.

Back in 2023, Cunningham reportedly declined the Arizona Cardinals general manager position.

The Jags are behind the eight ball and are looking to finalize their front office and coaching staff. If Cunningham in fact leaves for Jacksonville, the Bears would receive two third-round picks between the 2025 and 2026 NFL Drafts.

Chad Alexander, Trey Brown, Ethan Waugh, Brandon Brown, James Gladstone, and Josh Williams are some of the candidates who have interviewed for the opening, so Cunningham has his work cut out for himself.
