The Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory means that it's officially time for the NFL offseason to begin. Chicago Bears fans are excited to see what general manager Ryan Poles has planned for the coming months as he looks to give first-year head coach Ben Johnson all the tools to succeed in the 2025 season.
Now that the offseason is ramping up, NFL teams can officially announce some roster moves — including one the Bears have waited a month to make.
Bears Officially Claim OG Jordan McFadden
On Monday evening, 670 The Score's Chris Emma reported that the Bears have officially claimed offensive guard Jordan McFadden off waivers. The Los Angeles Chargers cut the former 2023 fifth-round pick on Jan. 9, but ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler to reported Chicago's claim one day later.
The Bears have officially claimed guard Jordan McFadden off waivers. He was a fifth-round pick to the Chargers in 2023 but was waived back in January.

McFadden, 25, was selected 156th overall by the Chargers nearly two years ago. The 6-foot-2, 303-pound blocker was a standout during his five seasons with the Clemson Tigers, which included the 2022 Jacobs Blocking Trophy and a 2018 CFP National Championship title.
Unfortunately, McFadden didn't fit well into Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh's plans, proven by the former playing just one game last season. The lack of playing time comes after the former Clemson product suited up 12 times (2 starts) as a rookie, resulting in grades of 49.5 and 54.0 for run and pass blocking, respectively, on Pro Football Focus.
Time will tell if McFadden can turn his career around in the Windy City. The Bears were an above-average team in terms of run blocking (65.6, 15th) and pass protection (72.8, 8th) in 2024, so perhaps moving to Chicago will bring out the best that the Spartanburg, SC native has to offer.
McFadden will have a chance to meet his new Bears teammates when new NFL coaches can officially hold their first offseason workouts on Monday, Apr. 7.
