Bears Have Perfect Landing Spot for Veteran on Trading Block After Latest Injury on TNF

The Chicago Bears have a golden opportunity to move on from a veteran who has been benched.

The Chicago Bears are sitting with a 4-3 record as we roll into Week 9 of the NFL season. Last week's loss at the hands of the Washington Commanders on a Hail Mary was a tough pill to swallow.

The attention has shifted to the matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. While that's the main focus for players in the locker room, management is always looking for ways to improve the team. The trade deadline is on Nov. 5, so teams around the league are scrambling to fill in holes along the roster.

The New York Jets and the Houston Texans kicked off Week 9 with a matchup on Thursday Night Football. In that contest, the Texans lost guard Kenyon Green for the season with a shoulder injury. While this is a loss for Houston, Chicago now has a landing spot for guard Nate Davis, who has been on the trade block for a couple of weeks now.

In 2023, Davis signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Bears but has struggled immensely since stepping foot in the Windy City. He's dealt with multiple injuries, and his play has fallen off. Davis' trade value has plummeted as people around the league think he'll fetch a conditional seventh-rounder.

To make matters worse for Davis, he's been a healthy scratch for two straight games. With a clear need at guard for the Texans, Davis could step in and fill the void. This is a deal that could help both sides.

The Bears are done with Davis, and the Texans need to replace Green as they look to make a playoff push in the second half of the season.
