The Chicago Bears already have reason to believe they have a mental advantage over the Green Bay Packers after the 2025 season. Chicago went 2-1 against their division rival with the final win including an epic double-digit fourth quarter comeback that proved no lead is safe as long as Caleb Williams is standing on the other sideline. Add in the obvious in a NFC North title, and the Bears already have every reason to believe they have the clear advantage over the hated rival.
Still, every possible advantage over Green Bay will be enjoyed, and one position that has clearly grown weaker for the Packers is at receiver. Both Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks departed the franchise while Green Bay made no efforts to replace either pass catcher, relying on incredibly questionable depth to replace the lost production.
Comparing the team's depth charts, it becomes clear just how incredibly talented the Bears are when it comes to possible playmakers. Chicago has an impressive lineup of Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Zavion Thomas, and Kalif Raymond, expected to be the team's top pass-catching threats.
Green Bay cannot compete with this depth, offering Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, Matthew Golden, and Jayden Reed as the current starting options. Star tight end Tucker Kraft is coming off a season-ending injury, and his 2026 return remains an unknown.
Bears Have Clear Advantage Over Packers with Far More Playmaker Depth
Looking at the running back position, Green Bay is dealing with questions around Josh Jacobs due to an alarming legal situation, while Chicago has a clear argument for employing the league's most talented rushing duo. To put it simply, this offseason has taken a possible advantage for Chicago and made it a blowout in favor of the Bears.
Chicago's depth when it comes to playmakers is far above that of Green Bay and shows why the Bears should yet again be favored in the NFC North. This isn't to say that the Packers don't have the talent to be a viable early-season threat, but rather pointing out the questionable depth as the clear advantage it will offer the Bears as injuries inevitably happen throughout the 2026 season.
The Bears remain in a great position to control the division not only in the season ahead, but for years to come. It is a welcome change after years of dealing with a Packers team that took joy in getting the better of the Bears for much of the last decade. Now, the tables have turned, and with each added advantage, it becomes clear Chicago is set for another season of revenge.
