As we firmly sit in ranking season, as the final summer month drags on, the Chicago Bears have been the target of both extremes. It seems that pundits are either predicting major regression or the Bears as an expected Super Bowl contender, with little in between. Leading us to look at a recent season long prediction from FS1's Danny Parkins, who took the time to go through the entire Chicago schedule and predicted a 13-4 finish that Bears fans would welcome and would be more than enough to maintain control of the NFC North.
It is worth noting here that Parkins admits to his own bias as a Bears fan and has the franchise starting out 6-0, with the only truly difficult matchups in the first six weeks being the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers. The predicted losses come later in the schedule, with the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, and Green Bay Packers as the predicted matchups to give Chicago a loss.
This is splitting the season series with both the Packers and Lions, a fair take based on recent rivalry history. Still, it is a glimpse of the best-case scenario for a team that is understandably approaching the regular season as an obvious NFC favorite.
Only the Los Angeles Rams clearly have a better chance in the conference based on a blockbuster of an offseason. Still, the idea of going 13-4 isn't wild, but a fair take that looks at what could happen if Caleb Williams is healthy and takes the expected leap with the incredible cast of playmakers around him.
Bears Can't Help but Embrace Prediction of 6-0 Start and Incredible 2026 Finish
With that said, this is a Chicago team that is more than capable of this, but should be expected to maintain its focus on each week. Ben Johnson isn't going to allow his roster to be distracted by lofty predictions or doubts, having gone through this during his time in Detroit and understanding the incredible importance of week-to-week focus.
Fans aren't burdened with this need and have been given every reason to embrace this prediction, understanding the increasing possibility that it proves to be accurate. The Bears have an offensively loaded roster and a young defense that should take strides forward under the accomplished leadership of coordinator Dennis Allen.
Winning 13 games makes a great deal of sense and is a clear possibility based on the current construction of the roster and the strong leadership in place. Regardless of how it plays out, it is great to see the Bears being pointed to as a clear contender in a conference they have a chance to surprise yet again in the 2026 season.
