The Chicago Bears hope to have Caleb Williams back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons and put last week's blowout loss safely behind them. Considering that the Falcons did just lose to the Baltimore Ravens without Lamar Jackson in the lineup the task seems very attainable. There was also a clear effort from Baltimore that Ben Johnson's staff can learn from to get back in the win column.

What the Ravens opted to do was simplistic in focusing on loading the line to slow Bijan Robinson early and forcing Michael Penix Jr. to go beyond his first read. There is a clear lack of confidence at times from the Atlanta quarterback when the run game isn't rolling and star receiver Drake London isn't easily springing open.

Dennis Allen needs to shade coverage to the receiver and load the line of scrimmage daring Penix to hold the ball long enough to beat them. This is what Baltimore did and rode the strategy to an overtime win while Lamar Jackson was sitting on the sideline. With that said, it should be noted that Penix is dealing with an injury, one that is a threat to keep the quarterback out of Sunday's game.

If Penix doesn't start and it is Tua Tagovailoa taking the field Bears fans are going to be all the more confident that things will fall their way. The former Miami Dolphins starter is noted for his elite ability to find ways to create turnovers at the worst possible moment.

Bears were handed a clear strategy to taking down Atlanta in important Week 6 matchup

This is clearly what Chicago should hope for with the understanding that Tagovailoa taking the field would heavily favor the Bears whether or not Williams is able to return as hoped. No question, the blueprint is in place for Chicago to take care of business and start to build momentum going into the heart of the 2026 schedule.

With that said, the Falcons aren't a team that can be underrated as blowout wins against the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints evidenced. When the offense is at its best it is one of the league's most lethal units and more than capable of keeping up with Williams and an explosive Bears offense in a shootout.

It is important the Bears don't allow this to happen shutting down the run early and damaging the confidence of Penix forcing the decision-maker to hold the ball too long just as he did against the Ravens this past weekend.
