Bears Get Uncertain Injury News Ahead of Week 8 Commanders Matchup
This past weekend, Bears fans enjoyed a great Sunday of football with the Bears on bye. The noon window saw two great NFC North games that went down to the wire.
Once those games concluded, Bears fans kept a close eye on what their week 8 opponent, the Washington Commanders, was doing against the Carolina Panthers. The Commanders took care of the Panthers, handily winning 40-7.
While the Commanders dominating the Panthers was no surprise, one noteworthy thing did happen in the game. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels exited early in the first quarter with a rib injury and didn't return.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn didn't have an update on Daniels immediately following the game. However, Quinn gave an update on Daniels during his Monday press conference.
Bears News: Dan Quinn Provides Update on Jayden Daniels' Rib Injury
Quinn said, "Daniels is week-to-week, but we are hopeful he can play."
Depending on your perspective, this is either great news or terrible news for the Bears. For fans who want to see the Bears win games regardless of the other tame injuries, then Daniels' injury helps the Bears do that.
On the other hand, some fans want to see the Bears beat a team that provides real competition. Without Daniels, the Commanders are not as big of a threat to the Bears, which makes this news terrible.
It's way too early in the week to know what Daniels' availability will be for Sunday, But whatever the case, the Bears coming out of Washington with a victory would be huge.
