The Chicago Bears were one of the most active teams in the offseason. After missing the playoffs for the fourth straight season, the Bears were able to make Ben Johnson their head coach.

Since then, they made it a priority to surround Caleb Williams with protection and pass catchers. They traded for Joe Thuney and signed Drew Dalman in free agency. Ryan Poles and company continued to build out the offense.

In the 2025 NFL draft, Chicago selected Colston Loveland, Luther Burden III, and Ozzy Trapilo on the offensive side.

Johnson made it his mission to give his new QB everything he needs to succeed. During the 2024 season, Williams was named a captain as a rookie but didn't have the season he or fans wanted to see.

In 17 games, Williams completed 62.5% of his passes for 3.541 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He only had seven games with two or more passing touchdowns last season.

With Johnson calling the shots offensively, the sky is the limit for the Bears' offense. Williams was a big reason he took this job, but now it's up to Williams to produce.

In terms of playmakers, he has D.J. Moore, Rome Odunze, D'Andre Swift, Cole Kmet, Loveland, and Burden III at his disposal. That has the makings of an elite unit and gives Williams a pass catcher who can excel on all three levels of the field.

The USC product came into the league with all the traits and tools teams look for in a franchise QB. He didn't have the coaching that he needed to thrive as a rookie, but now there aren't any more excuses.

Williams has everything he needs to take his game to the next level. That's from coaching to players around him. Chicago made it a priority to surround their young signal caller this offseason, and now it's up to him to deliver.
