The Chicago Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus last Friday and promoted offensive coordinator Thomas Brown to interim head coach. The final five games of the year are certainly a tryout for Brown to see if he can become the Bears' permanent head coach.

However, the team will exhaust all avenues to find the right guy. Many fans assumed that rookie quarterback Caleb Williams could have massive input on the Bears' next head coach. Given that he is the future franchise QB, the Bears must find a guy who meshes well with him.

Despite that, it seems the Bears and general manager Ryan Poles aren't going to let Williams hand-pick the next head coach.

On Monday, at his press conference with team president Kevin Warren, Poles told reporters he's unsure what specific input Williams will have on the next head coach. Even so, Poles emphasized that whoever becomes the next head coach must have a great development plan for Williams.

Bears News: Caleb Williams Might Not Have Much Say on the Next Bears Head Coach

At first glance, fans will want to blast Poles for saying Williams won't have much input into the next head coach. As mentioned above, Williams and the next Bears head coach need to mesh well in order for the team to be successful.

Nevertheless, allowing Williams to have massive input into the next head coach could cause a divide in the locker room. Veterans could quickly grow resentful if that power were given to Williams.

That's not what Bears fans or the organization wants after Eberflus' downfall. Poles and Warren are making the decision on who the next Bears head coach will be, which is what's best for the team.

Although Poles screw ups are starting to stack up, most fans still have faith that he can make the right head coaching hire. Therefore, the fans will be happy if the hire meshes well with Williams and the Bears start winning games.
