Bears being ranked fourth in this NFL category should terrify the NFC North

The Chicago Bears have an elite supporting cast entering the 2026 season. They ranked fourth in a Fox Sports ranking of the best group of players around the quarterback conducted by Ralph Vacciano. The ranking should not come as a major surprise.

The Chicago Bears have the fourth-best supporting cast in the NFL

The Bears' offense is not perfect, which is why it is not number one, but they do not have significant flaws anywhere. Their biggest question is the offensive line.

However, they have three or potentially four players with chances to start at left tackle, and three of them have starting experience in the NFL. Their center surprisingly retired on them, and they added a veteran with experience, along with a rookie who can provide long-term upside. When you add in that Joe Thuney is a Hall of Fame-type player, Jonah Jackson bounced back last year, and Darnell Wright is about to be paid like one of the best tackles in the NFL, it is hard to say that the Bears' offensive line is bad.

At skill player, they lost DJ Moore, but that should only free up more targets for Luther Burden and Colston Loveland, who are ascending in year two. That does not mention Rome Odunze, who is a former top ten pick in his third NFL season. With Cole Kmet and Sam Roush rounding out the tight end room, they have heaps of pass catchers.

Lastly, D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai are not going to be on a top-five list any time soon, but the combination of them brings a high floor to the Bears' backfield. When the weakest unit on the offense is two competent starters who can split time, you are probably going to have one of the better groups in the NFL.

Arguably, the most exciting aspect is that the youth of the group is what is carrying them. Burden, Loveland, Odunze, and Monangai are all on the rookie salary deals and have long futures ahead of them. The team is about to give Wright his first extension, they have Logan Jones at center, and even if he will not play this year, they should have a long term answer at left tackle with Ozzy Trapilo.

So, the Bears not only have one of the best supporting casts this year, they have the potential to be high on this list for many years to come.
