The Chicago Bears' first preseason game could not answer all of our questions. However, it can give us a strong idea of how certain players are trending in terms of their status on the team. Who are five players who are moving up the depth chart after the preseason opener?

Salvon Ahmed
The third running back job is up for grabs. It is worth noting that Roschon Johnson worked ahead of Ahmed to start. However, Ahmed had a 49-yard touchdown reception that highlighted the burst that has been discussed around him at training camp.
Ahmed obviously led the running backs in receiving, and he had the best yards per carry amongst the running backs despite just two carries. He should get more touches next week.
Jamree Kromah
Kromah was looking like an end of the roster opton and a practice squad candidate in the Bears edge rusher room. However, the room is not nearly deep enough to write anyone off, so Kromah suddenly has a real chance to make the roster.
Kromah led the team in tackles, with five. He added two sacks and a forced fumble as well. If he keeps producing like this, it will be hard to remove him from this room.
Kaden Davis
Davis has been an exciting name in training camp, and now he is showing it on the NFL field. Davis had four catches for 88 yards. He also had a punt return that went for 23 yards. The return game will be hard to win a job in with Zavion Thomas, but the rookie has not shown anything on an NFL field yet. All of a sudden, Davis is a name to watch in the return competition and on the offensive depth chart.
Beanie Bishop
The team just signed Bishop due to depth issues. However, two years ago he started for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the slot. Considering the team is thin in the slot, Bishop gives them another option. He had two interceptions in his debut with the Bears and is now on the roster bubble.

Malik Muhammad
Muhammad fell in the draft because there are questions about whether teams would play him in the slot or outside. So far, they have used him both inside and outside in training camp. He blew up a play on defense and had three tackles, showing that belongs no matter where he plays.
