The Chicago Bears being 3-1 through the first four games of the season is a pleasant surprise in itself. Still, there are a few individual performers who have been impressing as well. Who are the biggest surprises through four weeks?

Chicago Bears' biggest surprises through four weeks?

Case Keenum

You cannot mention surprises across the NFL and not mention Keenum. Of course, Keenum is the biggest pleasant surprise on the Bears. He only started one game and is unlikely to start another game for the rest of his career. Still, the 38-year-old who is essentially a pseudo-coach needed to suit up for one last game due to injuries to both quarterbacks. Keenum beat the Philadelphia Eagles on primetime and looked great doing it. It was a great surprise.

Kalif Raymond

If you said that three players would split the lead in receiving, that would not be a surprise. However, Raymond being the third option with Luther Burden and Rome Odunze, not Colston Loveland, is quite the surprise.

Odunze has 233 yards receiving. Raymond has 220 yards, and Burden has 219. Then, Loveland has 91. Raymond has been highly efficient as well. He leads all of the Bears in yards per route run, at 2.2.

Raymond is pacing towards a career year. Not many saw this coming before the season.

Devin Bush

When the Bears signed Bush in free agency, it felt ambitious. He had been a starter for the Browns for two seasons but had five years of not living up to expectations before that. So far, he has been a great fit for the Dennis Allen defense.

His mentality fits what the team is looking for, and he is starting to step into a leadership role. If you told fans this would be his role when he was drafted in the top ten in 2018, it would not be a surprise. However, not many saw Bush being this successful before the year.

Dillon Thieneman

The rookie first-round pick was expected to start right away, but he has already been one of the best players on the Bears' defense. He has 30 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception.

Malik Muhammad

The Bears' fourth-round pick has been asked to do everything this year. He has started on the outside and in the slot. He has excelled in both. It is hard to find a better value than Muhammad when he was drafted.
