5 Bears whose stock fell after preseason loss to Bengals

Chicago’s second preseason game brought more clarity to the roster bubble, and several players did themselves no favors against Cincinnati.

Now that the Chicago Bears' second preseason game is over, things are starting to become clearer on the roster. Who are the biggest losers from the Bears' preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals?

Biggest Losers From Chicago Bears Preseason Loss

Kaden Davis

Davis has had a strong training camp and added a big catch in the preseason to keep things going. Unfortunately, he did not keep the momentum going. Davis had a muffed punt and did not show up on the stat sheet in the passing game. Meanwhile, Scotty Miller 18 yards on two catches.

He needed a perfect preseason to push for a roster spot, and this bump in the road makes it hard to see him sneaking on now.

Kiran Amegadjie

None of the starting left tackle options were good enough to win the job this week. However, Amegadjie might be the number four name in the rotation. He was fourth to get work with the left tackles this week, and he had to work across from rookie UDFA Mason Murphy. Despite playing last and against the worst competition, Amegadjie still struggled and committed a penalty.  He appears to be back in the bottom of the mix.

Daniel Hardy

Hardy entered training camp with a good shot to win a roster spot on the edge. However, the last two weeks have not helped his case. Jamree Kromah has outproduced him in two straight preseason games. He has eight pressures to just two by Hardy.

Then, the team signed Marcus Davenport in free agency. He did not play in the preseason but likely enters ahead of Hardy. He has been passed by two names, which will take him off of the roster.

Brittain Brown

The battle for the third running back spot started as a four-man battle. Chicago released Coleman Bennett, limiting it to three. If the second preseason game is any indication, it is now down to Roschon Johnson and Salvon Ahmed. Brown has eight rushes for 11 yards and has hardly played any special teams. He is out of the mix.

Zavion Thomas

Thomas has been hurt, but the rookie has shown nothing. The Bears had big plans for his usage, and his return ability was supposed to help from day one. Kaliff Raymond appears to have on both the number three receiver and the return man jobs. Now, he looks like a Week 1 inactive.
