The Chicago Bears head into their bye week with a 4-2 record. If you told Bears fans that would be the team's record at the bye week heading into the season, they would have been more than thrilled.

Despite that, the Bears' road to 4-2 is not what many expected. During the first three weeks of the season, the Bears' offense combined for 38 points and 794 yards of total offense. A large part of the offense's ineffectiveness was poor offensive line play.

In that stretch, the offensive line allowed 15 sacks and many more pressures. They also struggled to open up consistent running lanes.

Thankfully, over the past three weeks, the Bears' offense has improved significantly, combining for 95 points and 1,098 total yards. The Bears' offensive line improvement has been a major reason why the offense has succeeded. In these games, they have only allowed seven total sacks and kept the pressure rate down while also opening up holes in the running game.

Defensively, the team has performed well, not allowing any team to score more than 21 points on them. Although there are specific areas of the defense (i.e., run defense) that need to improve, the overall performance has to meet most expectations.

Even with the improved offensive play and the solid defensive play throughout the first six weeks, some Bears have still had disappointing starts. Let's take a look.
