1. Slow Down the Edge Rush

The Bears offensive line played its best game of the season last week against the Panthers. They only allowed one sack and one total pressure. While that sounds impressive, the Panthers have one of the worst defensive lines in the NFL. So, it would have been an issue if the offensive line didn;t perform that well.

This week, the Bears are going up against two good edge rushers, Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. The last time the Bears offensive line played against high-caliber edge talent, it did not end well. Both Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. ended the game with seven quarterback pressures and 1.5 sacks.

While many wouldn't put Walker and Allen in the same category as Anderson and Hunter, their stats this season are similar. According to PFF, Walker has 19 QB pressures, two QB hits, two QB hurries, and four sacks. Allen has 19 QB pressures, two QB hits, two QB hurries, and two sacks this season.

Both Allen and Walker enter this week after great performances against the Colts. Even so, if the Bears can effectively chip and double-team one guy on each play, it will create cleaner pockets for Caleb Williams. If they are unable to protect Willaims, the Bears could be in store for another performance like they had against the Texans.
