The Chicago Bears have been a year behind schedule, taking control of the NFC North a season after the franchise was considered a trendy playoff pick. Now, head coach Ben Johnson has actually overhauled the roster and is getting the most out of a group that appears playoff-bound. With this in mind, there is no shortage of star contributors who have a great chance to make this year's Pro Bowl selection.
While the honor isn't considered as prestigious as it once was, there is no debating that it is still a great accolade to add to any resume. This sets up a trio of Bears players to potentially get the honor for the first time and find their way into the league event.
1. Rome Odunze
Rome Odunze has very quickly become a focal point of the Chicago offense, already totaling 600 yards and 6 touchdowns through 10 games in his second season. Considering how inconsistent quarterback Caleb Williams has been, this is an impressive total already.
For Odunze, it is fair to wonder what the prospective ceiling might be if Williams can improve that consistency down the stretch. Odunze is supremely talented and able to use his frame to gain consistent leverage against any kind of coverage. If Williams can get the ball out sooner (or get some extra protection from the o-line), then Odunze has a chance to go up another level.
Still, even at his current level of production, Odunze will be making a case for a pro Bowl selection — one that would serve as a reminder of how talented the Bears' offense is this year.
2. Caleb Williams
This pick isn't based on accomplishments yet, but could still be driven by name recognition and popularity. Like it or not, popularity still plays a big role in Pro Bowl selections, and quarterbacks bowing out has become commonplace. There is a reason we've seen names like Mac Jones and Tyler Huntley make the roster in recent years.
For Williams, this is going to create an opportunity to earn a needed accolade and perhaps add more confidence. Williams, at his best, is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league, able to make every NFL-level throw as well as create time and plays with his legs.
However, it is important to point out that this projection is based not on his accomplishments this season, but on the dwindling options. Injuries and star quarterbacks opting out are going to open up the chance for Williams to receive the honor.
3. Darnell Wright
Very quietly, Wright is establishing himself as one of the better tackles in the game, earning an 81 PFF run blocking grade, which ranks the tackle top ten at the position. The steady presence of the tackle should at least earn him a high level of consideration for the 2025 Pro Bowl. So much of what the offense has accomplished is based on winning in the trenches, and Wright has a huge hand in this.
It would be the first time earning the honor for Wright, depsite the solid early career he's put together. Wright has been one of the few pieces that Bears fans can watch with zero question marks or concerns.
There is an expected level of stability that Wright always provides, giving the franchise everything it needs from the position. This should earn the lineman his first Pro Bowl nod and give the Bears three new Pro Bowl honorees.
