Chicago Blackhawks phenom center and confirmed Travis Kelce’s favorite player has been named National Hockey League’s Rookie of the Month for November.

Bedard had twelve total points in twelve games: six goals and six assists. He is the third Blackhawk to win the award, behind Dominik Kubalik in January of 2020  and Patrick Kane in October of 2007.

Bedard’s best outing came on November 9th when the Hawks visited the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena. Bedard had two goals and two assists, four total points, in a domination that took the electricity right out of the Bolts. He scored two goals again the very next game against the Florida Panthers in Sunrise.

Chicago Blackhawks: Connor Bedard is as elite as advertised.

It has felt like ages since Hawks fans had a young talent and future to be excited about. Jonathan Toews is not playing, Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat have reunited in Detroit, and the last couple of seasons have seen veteran names come and go. Now, with Bedard at the helm and things slowing down for Lukas Reichel, the future’s looking brighter than it has for quite some time.

The Hawks have yet to win two consecutive games in a row, but the argument can be made that the young players are learning and the veteran presence is patient with them. This year will probably not result in a run, but next year can represent the step up of contending for a playoff spot, followed by (hopefully) a long, healthy, successful run a multiple Stanley Cups.
