The Chicago Blackhawks are already set with the Connor Bedard era. He is hoping to be one of the greatest players in franchise history one day. He is already on the fast track to success as he is beginning his NHL career. As of now, he looks like a complete superstar.

Is there a world where he makes more of an impact on the Hawks than Patrick Kane did? Based on talent, absolutely. Based on winning tons of games and championships? That is going to take a lot of time and a bit of luck.

Kane is one of the franchise’s all-time greatest players. The guy scored a ton of points and won the Hart Trophy, the Art Ross, the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Stanley Cup three times. He certainly didn’t do it all by himself but he was a big part of it.

Unfortunately, as a part of the rebuild, the Hawks decided to trade Kane away last year. He ended up with a Stanley Cup contender in the New York Rangers but they failed to get past the first round thanks to a game seven defeat at the hands of the New Jersey Devils.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Patrick Kane have a long history with each other.

After the season was over, Kane had a surgery that has kept him out since. It happened to happen right when he became an unrestricted free agent. As of right now, Kane still doesn’t have a team that he is signed with. He wanted to wait until he was 100 percent ready to play.

Now that we are approaching mid-November, Kane is getting ready to make a decision. There was an update on the situation that came out on Thursday. NHL insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff dot com came out with an article that detailed some rumors on Kane.

He reports that Kane has spoken with one team, talks with more are coming, and he should be narrowed down to three or four teams by this time next week. He also wonders if it is going to be a one-year Cup-chasing type of year or if his next contract will give him some stability.

You would think that Kane has some leverage here. He was injured last year and he still managed to put up some points. He isn’t much of a help on defense but his all-around game should be improved with full health. The year before, he resembled the best version of himself.

He is in his 30s now so you might not be getting that Hart Trophy-type guy anymore but you are getting a veteran that can score and has tons of experience.

Lots of contenders should be looking at Kane. Some make more sense than others. This update sure is interesting and more should be on the horizon when it comes to Kane news.
