The Chicago Blackhawks are not a very good hockey team. When they took on the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, they were outplayed in every way. It was probably their worst showing of the season as that elite Bruins team beat them down.

The defending champion Vegas Golden Knights are seen as a legit threat to go back-to-back so you’d expect more of the same when they played the Blackhawks. The Hawks had already been beaten by Vegas earlier in the year but this time it was in the Golden Knights’ home barn.

Well, things looked like they were going to be bad for the Hawks in this one when they were down 2-0 before the 4:00 mark of the first period. When the Golden Knights get out to a lead like that, it usually works out well for them.

However, the Hawks had other ideas. About ten minutes worth of game clock later, the Hawks got on the board. Ryan Donato scored to cut the deficit in half. About a minute later, Connor Bedard scored his third of the season to get the game tied.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Connor Bedard had a big game on Friday night.

Bedard’s goal was exactly what made him such a hyped-up prospect. He has this incredible shot that is impossible to stop when he executes it the right way. Nick Foligno made an amazing play to create the chance for him and he didn’t miss.

There were no goals scored in the second period. Following that, each team exchanged a goal in the third period. A minute into the frame, Taylor Raddysh scored to give the Hawks a 3-2 lead. About ten minutes after that, Shea Theodore scored his third of the season to tie it up.

It would remain tied until overtime when Philipp Kurashev scored to give the Blackhawks a big win. They came back from being down 2-0 against a team that was 7-0-0. Before losing to Chicago, Vegas had the best start to a season for the defending champions in NHL history.

Although this is a developmental year for Chicago, it is still nice for them to win sometimes. You don’t want them to stack up loss after loss with the young kids on the team. The fact that Bedard scored a goal in the big win is very good as well.

The Hawks are now off until Tuesday when they will take on the Arizona Coyotes. It is one last road game on this trip before coming back to Chicago. Bedard and the Hawks are going to be very watchable this season regardless of the outcomes.
