The Chicago Cubs are already off to a magnificent start to their off-season. They hired Craig Counsell to be their manager and that is a significant upgrade over David Ross. They are a better team and they haven’t even done anything to improve their roster yet.

They are going to do what they can to fill the holes that they have on the roster. There are some good players out there and the Cubs appear to be ready to shop at the top of the market. They should be doing that.

Just like everybody else, they could also use some pitching. Not a single team in the league needs any pitching at all. The rotation and bullpen could use an upgrade. There is a situation out there that the Cubs should be trying to take advantage of.

Tyler Glasnow of the Tampa Bay Rays might be available for the Cubs to consider trading for. They absolutely should be trying to do that if the Rays are truly willing to move him. He could come over in one of these three trade packages:

Trade One

The Chicago Cubs could move a few good prospects for Tyler Glasnow.

The Chicago Cubs could really use a true starter like Tyler Glasnow. He would join the start of a very good rotation. He might legitimately be their best pitcher by the end of the year as long as he stays healthy.

Trading Cade Horton and Jordan Wicks would not be fun to see but getting a stud pitcher like Glasnow in return would be amazing.

Both Horton and Wicks are good pitchers that the Rays could probably turn into stars. The resources they use there to get the most out of talented young pitching is unmatched.

It would be fun to see what these guys turn into with them. It would also be good for the Cubs to get a proven veteran for the top of their rotation.
