The Chicago Blackhawks are a very exciting team because of Connor Bedard. He is every bit as good as advertised. He is incredibly shifty and can shoot the puck like nobody else. His dynamic play will really help the Hawks make deep runs in the future as they add more around him.

However, he is not surrounded by much right now. The Blackhawks are definitely a slow and bad team right now. They started off with some juice but the higher-end teams really expose them for what they really are. We saw what the Colorado Avalanche did to them last week.

Now, on Wednesday, the Boston Bruins did it in a slightly different way but they did it. They dominated the Hawks in every way and ended up with a 3-0 victory. No goals were scored in the first so the Hawks stayed in it early but it all came crashing down after that.

Pavel Zacha, Matthew Poitras, and Trent Frederic all scored goals to get the Bruins the win. Jeremy Swayman didn’t need to be spectacular but he got the 23 save shutout so he should be proud. It was a good effort by the Bruins on the road.

The Boston Bruins took care of Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bedard’s waved off goal

Before any of the Bruins scored, however, Connor Bedard beat Swayman with a sweet shot. On NHL Frozen Frenzy night, it was amazing that he scored such a pretty goal with the whole country watching. However, it was waved off because of an off-side call. That is a horrible look for the league.

One of the league’s top young stars had a sweet goal waved off because of the millimeter difference of a skate blade that had no impact on the goal whatsoever. The Blackhawks did not deserve to win in the slightest as they were outshot, out-chanced, and out-skilled but this one Bedard goal should be on the board.

You also never know how the momentum would have been after that goal if it counted. The entire game could have gone differently. Instead, the 6-0-0 Bruins remain one of three undefeated teams left and the Hawks fall to 2-5-0. It was an entertaining game at times but the Bruins won just the way they wanted to.

Next Game

Chicago is now headed West for two games, starting with Friday night against the Vegas Golden Knights. That won’t be an easy one as they play each other again for the second time in a week but this time in the hostile T-Mobile Arena.

This is a developmental year though. They have to make sure that Bedard is set up for success while getting the rest of their organization built back up. They seem to be doing that well so far.

This Chicago Blackhawks injury is just bad luck. light. Related Story
