Bears: 3 college quarterbacks who can replace Justin Fields
The Chicago Bears are one of the worst teams in the NFL. They had the worst record in the league last year too which left them with the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
They felt the need to move the selection for a haul which they did. They decided to trade it to the Carolina Panthers and took their first-round pick in 2023 and 2024 in addition to other things.
Lo and behold, the Panthers are the only winless team in the NFL at 0-6 while the Bears are 2-5. If the season were to end today, the Bears would have the first and third overall pick in the draft. That would be a tremendous opportunity for them to make a big move that betters their future.
So far this season, quarterback Justin Fields has been terrible and now he’s hurt. In year three of his NFL career, it is pretty clear that he is not the guy in the long term. As a result of that, the Bears need to go for a massive overhaul.
Knowing that fact, they need to draft a quarterback once again with a high draft pick. They have a shot at some of the best quarterbacks in the county as long as they maintain that good draft capital. These are the three best college quarterbacks that are draft-eligible in 2024:
Caleb Williams would look very good in a Chicago Bears uniform next year.
The Chicago Bears could consider Caleb Williams if they have the number one overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. He is the quarterback of USC and some people see him as the next generational prospect at the quarterback position.
He hasn’t been as impressive as we thought so far this season but he has still been really good on a flawed USC team. It will be interesting to see if whichever NFL team is picking first overall on draft night will take him and try to build all of their success around him.
If the Bears drafted Williams, they would be under some serious pressure. They already messed up a ton of talented quarterbacks but Williams is on another level coming out of college. They would really need to take good care of him if they selected him.
