Chicago Blackhawks: Connor Bedard has his first career NHL goal
It has finally happened. You’ve been waiting all summer for this moment. Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks has scored his first career NHL goal. After becoming the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, he is finally on the board.
Bedard earned his first career point on Tuesday night in the season opener. It was an assist on a Ryan Donato goal that started a multi-goal comeback for Chicago over the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was a great way to get the season started.
That left fans wanting more, especially from Bedard. On Wednesday, the wait for his first career goal ended. With the Vezina Trophy winner in net for the Boston Bruins, Bedard scored his first goal on a wraparound. It was a great moment for him that gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead.
Bedard is known for his incredible shot so it is funny to see his first career goal come on a wraparound. Goal scorers find ways no matter what and that is clear with Bedard.
Connor Bedard has scored his first career NHL goal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The goal was assisted by Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato. Of course, they are both former Boston Bruins which makes it clear that sports are poetry.
As mentioned before, Linus Ullmark was the Vezina Trophy winner as the league’s top rookie last season. The Bruins were also the best team in NHL history in terms of wins and points. Getting his first goal against them is very impressive.
This kid clearly has it all. That is two points in his first four NHL periods. He has everything he needs to be a star in the NHL. At this point, he already is.
Now that he has his first goal and assist in the books, he can just focus on hockey. It isn’t going to be easy from here out but he can think about nothing else other than his development. That is going to be the first of many goals for the Chicago Blackhawks rookie.
