The Chicago Bears are far and away one of the worst teams in the NFL. After starting 0-3, they blew a 28-7 lead to the Denver Broncos and became 0-4. That was rock bottom coming into Week 5. The losing streak went all the way back to October 24th, 2022.

On Thursday Night Football, however, it finally all ended. They beat the Washington Commanders by a final score of 40-20. It was the best game that they have played in a very long time. Everyone should be proud of this win because football is a team game.

However, few people are as happy right now as Matt Eberflus. He has been on the hot seat for a few weeks in a row now. It felt like change could have been made if they lost this game on Thursday night but they didn’t. He will live to see another week as the head coach.

There are going to be some people upset because of the fact that this could hinder the chances of the number one pick in the draft. The goal this season was to compete, not get the number one pick. The Bears also have the Carolina Panthers’ first-round selection and they are 0-4.

The Chicago Bears finally got their first win of the 2023 NFL season.

The Bears are going to celebrate this win. They really should too. It was one of the most exciting finishes for fans of this team in a very long time.
