The Chicago Bears win for the first time in almost a year
The Chicago Bears are one of the worst teams in the NFL once again. They came into the weekend with a record of 0-4 which tells you just how bad things are. They hit rock bottom last week when they blew a late 21-point lead to the Denver Broncos.
However, anything can happen in any game. That was clear on Thursday night when they took on the Washington Commanders. They aren’t anything special either but they have been a much better team than the Bears.
Finally, this team got over the hump. They held onto a big lead and beat the Commanders by a final score of 40-20. It was a great win for them. Although it took longer than expected, that 0 in the win column is gone.
Justin Fields, who has been taking a lot of heat so far this season, was great. He went 15/29 for 282 yards and four touchdowns. He did not throw an interception in the game. Fields also carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards. It was as good of a win as he’s had as an NFL player.
The Chicago Bears earned an amazing team win on Thursday Night Football.
The biggest key for Fields in this game was DJ Moore. The newest Chicago Bears receiver was incredible. He had 8 receptions for 230 yards and a remarkable three touchdowns. It was one of his best games as a pro as well. Very few NFL receivers are capable of having that kind of game.
It can’t go without saying that there was a bit of doubt in the minds of everyone during this game. They came out and the Commanders started to get going. They even got within ten points of the Bears with plenty of time left.
Instead of breaking in this game as they did a week ago, they ended up getting some more points and sealing the win. All of the players that they needed to show up in this one did their job.
This was the first win for the Chicago Bears since October 24th, 2022. That ended a franchise-long losing streak. It may have saved some jobs too which is important. Hopefully, this is the turnaround that they need to get them going in the right direction.
It was an outstanding game to watch too. On the night that we learned that Dick Butkus passed away, it was great to see the Bears win. This one was for him. He is certainly smiling down on the team that he once represented so well. We can only hope that there is more to come.
