3 Chicago Blackhawks to trade during training camp
The Chicago Blackhawks are officially underway in training camp. We have seen all sorts of awesome videos on social media of players both on and off the ice.
This year, the big story is Connor Bedard who the Hawks made the number one pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He is one of the most hyped-up hockey prospects in the history of the world.
There are also some new faces to be excited about like Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno, and Corey Perry who should help make this year just a bit more fun. There are also a ton of great young prospects not named Bedard at camp to be excited about as well.
Chicago is still going to be a bad team in 2023-24 so the future has the be the most important thing on their mind. With that, they might consider trading a few veterans who aren’t in the long-term plans.
If the Hawks were to make a training camp trade, these three could be in the mix:
The Chicago Blackhawks could move defenseman Connor Murphy at any time.
The Chicago Blackhawks have had some good years with Connor Murphy in terms of his play on the ice wearing their sweater. It is just unfortunate that right when he started to be fully developed, the team around him wasn’t good enough.
Now, his timeline doesn’t really match the rebuild so it would be doing him a favor if they traded him away. There are plenty of contenders who would love to add a defenseman like Connor Murphy.
Murphy would not just be some rental either. He is 30 years old so there is plenty of good hockey left in the tank and he has three years left on his deal (including this year) at $4.4 MM. It is a cheap deal for a good player with multiple years left.
