All off-season long, Chicago Blackhawks fans have been waiting to see Connor Bedard come to town and play for them. Now, we are just about at that time.

Of course, the Chicago Blackhawks earned the right to Draft Connor Bedard by winning the 2023 draft lottery. It made it feel like the way last season went was worth it.

Bedard is one of the best prospects to come out of junior hockey in the history of the sport. Although they have different play styles, his pedigree is often compared to guys like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, and Auston Matthews.

Those are lofty expectations for a teenager but that is the talent level that he brings to the table. If he reaches his ceiling, he’ll be one of the greatest players in the history of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Connor Bedard is officially at Chicago Blackhawks training camp in 2023.

Over the last handful of days, Bedard has been taking part in the NHL media tour. We’ve seen him in pictures with guys like Crosby along with other different types of photo shoots. He’s also been interviewed a few times.

On Thursday, however, we finally got to see Connor Bedard skating around in Blackhawks gear. It has been a while since we’ve seen Connor Bedard on the ice. With summer coming to an end, it is time for hockey.

Lots of rookies around the league have reported to camp with the veterans expected to start showing up over the next handful of days into next week. Blackhawks fans are at a stage right now where they mostly care about the prospect anyway so training camp has officially begun.

It is great to see Connor Bedard finally get started in his first career NHL training camp. The Blackhawks are not expected to be that good of a team this year but Connor Bedard is going to be very exciting to watch.

This training camp is obviously going to be very big for him as he will start to understand the speed of the NHL. He won’t understand it to its fullest until he plays in the preseason and then he really well understands it once he starts getting in regular season action.

That doesn’t make training camp any less important though because he will finally get to start conditioning and getting ready for the season. He’s on a team where he might be the primary focus in terms of the shutdown players on the other team so he needs to be ready.

Things will really get good when we start to see him skating with guys like Taylor Hall, Andreas Athanasiou, and Lukas Reichel amongst others.

We have already seen a couple of videos of Connor Bedard skating around and he looks like he belongs. Compared to most other teenage/young players in the league right now he’s worlds better.

There are even videos surfacing from today of him using his elite shot in training camp. That is something that should translate to regular season games once they begin.

There is no doubt that Connor Bedard is going to be a superstar and we are already seeing glimpses of it. Even his passing game is underrated at this point because of how good his shot is. The league should be put on notice now with him coming in.

The Chicago Blackhawks should retire number seven twice. light. Related Story
