The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team went to Dublin, Ireland in week one and dominated the Navy. It was a great way for them to start the season in Week 0.

Following that, they played against Tennessee State in week one. Of course, they took care of their business in that game and are now 2-0.

They have dominated both of their opponents up to this point. There are some big games on the schedule this year so it is good to see that they are doing what they need to do early against these weaker teams.

One of the bigger games that Notre Dame has on their upcoming schedule is a clash with Clemson.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish play the Clemson Tigers this season.

Of course, these two teams have played each other hard over the last handful of years whenever they meet which makes this very exciting.

Unfortunately, something happened on Monday night that was not great for Notre Dame. Clemson lost to Duke by a final score of 28-7.

This is bad because Clemson was supposed to be a great game on the schedule of Notre Dame. If the Tigers end up being a mediocre team, it wouldn’t be a quality win for them late in the season.

Now, the Irish do play Duke later in the season but that will only be nice if they end up becoming a good team following this big week one win. They can’t fall off.

Luckily, Notre Dame has a game with Ohio State and another with USC later in the year so their schedule is by no means weak because Clemson lost.

It would have just been nice for Clemson to look like a better win for them. Things like this matter because of the fact that Notre Dame isn’t in a conference.

They need all of the style points that they can get. Would beating Clemson later in the year be that impressive? It really isn’t feeling that way right now.

Here in week two, that game against Duke is much scarier. Their fans stormed the field after the big upset win and they have every reason to be happy. We’ll see if they can keep it up all year long.
