The Chicago Cubs had some really good moments with Jason Heyward. He helped them win the World Series in 2016 and nobody could ever take that away from him.

He didn’t fully live up to his contract but they got the ring and that is why they signed him. It was the way his Cubs tenure ended that was the main issue as he just wasn’t very good.

Now, he plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers and his season is making everyone wonder what the deal was for him in Chicago.

He was a castaway by the end of his time as a Cub but now he is having a very good season with the Dodgers.

Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is actually having a great season.

This is not to say that the Cubs should have kept him because they shouldn’t have. They are a great team this year and Jason Heyward is not the missing piece.

However, it is to say that the Dodgers just find ways to fix people. He is just one of many players to go there and succeed after struggling somewhere else.

On Wednesday, Heyward hit his 13th home run of the season. It was a 2-run shot that helped the Dodgers take down the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-0.

As of right now, with his 2023 stats, Heyward would be 4th on the Cubs in batting average, 3rd in on-base percentage, 2nd in slugging percentage, and 2nd in OPS. It is wild to see what has happened to him since switching from Cubbie Blue to Dodger Blue.

Both of these teams are probably going to the playoffs and you never know if they meet in the postseason. That would surely be a fun playoff reunion.

On the flip side of all this, the Chicago Cubs revived Cody Bellinger’s career after he was struggling at the end of his Dodgers tenure. Of the two players revived, Bellinger is far and away better.

To be honest, Heyward was a great representative of the Cubs and it is nice to see him thriving again in his career. He deserves it.
