3 former Chicago Bears that can still be signed in free-agency
The Chicago Bears are hoping to be a much-improved football team in 2023. 2022 was a disaster for them but it was mostly by design.
Now, entering a new training camp in a few weeks, the expectation is that they will take some big steps as a franchise.
There are a lot of things that need to go right for them to be a playoff-caliber team but it is certainly possible.
If they want to make some last-minute upgrades before camp begins, there are still some really good free agents out there.
There are even some former Bears that are looking for a home in 2023. These three former Chicago Bears make sense for a reunion:
1. Robert Quinn
Robert Quinn is someone that would make sense for the Chicago Bears.
The Chicago Bears traded Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 season. He went with them all the way to the Super Bowl but they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Quinn has been a very good pass rusher in his NFL career and now he is a free agent looking for a new NFL home. Well, why not make his new NFL home one of his old NFL homes?
The Chicago Bears are going to be much better than they were for most of Quinn’s tenure with the team. They might not be world-beaters or anything like that but he will certainly have more talent around him.
At this point in the summer, returning to his old team might be a good idea for him. Then, if things go downhill early again for the team, they could trade him to a contender. It is definitely something for both sides to consider.
