The upcoming 2023 NFL season is one that Chicago Bears fans are anxiously awaiting, more so than many schedules in years’ past.

General manager Ryan Poles did a wonderful job improving the Bears’ roster this offseason, and fans that have stuck with “the plan” since last offseason now understand where we’re headed, here.

The 2022 offseason was frustrating for some, but to those who saw the bigger picture, we knew that 2023 was when the Bears were really going to try and improve, and that’s what Poles did.

So now, fans are eagerly looking forward to watching some live-game action with this newly-retooled roster. When does it all begin?

The Chicago Bears begin their 2023 NFL preseason schedule on August 12 where they host the Tennessee Titans

Bears fans might remember the last time the team played Tennessee in the preseason, back in 2021 during Justin Fields’ rookie season.

Fields ended that game going 7-for-10 with 54 yards and a touchdown, but the big story that game was tight end Jesper Horsted, who found the end zone three times.

Here is the full Bears’ 2023 preseason slate:

August 12: Bears vs. Titans

August 19: Bears @ Colts

August 26: Bears vs. Bills

Remember, back in 2021, the league voted to expand the regular season by one game, moving to a 17-game schedule and thus shortening the preseason to just three contests.

Chicago last played the Indianapolis Colts during the preseason back in 2019, which was quite the night around the NFL. It wasn’t the Bears who took center stage, though, as former Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s retirement was leaked during the preseason game.

Anyone watching that game remembers the awkward moment it happened, along with some Colts fans even booing their former star quarterback.

The Bears and Bills also met in the preseason back in 2021 during Fields’ rookie year, and Buffalo stomped Chicago in that meeting, 41-15.

Of course, that was just preseason. But, it was a notable revenge game for Mitchell Trubisky, who went 20-for-28, throwing for 221 yards and a touchdown against his former team.
