At a time where the NBA Playoffs are nearing the finale, many teams are now watching from home and considering a multitude of options for the offseason. The Chicago Bulls are certainly a team to watch, this summer, as a few changes could be in store.

Do they re-sign Coby White? Does Nikola Vucevic sign elsewhere? Does this team actually attempt to run it back with the same roster?

All are questions that need answers, but the Bulls could also choose to try and blow things up while building around Zach LaVine.

NBA insider Sean Deveney recently wrote that the Bulls and Phoenix Suns are two teams to monitor this offseason when it comes to potentially making some big changes.

“The Bulls have not shopped their star wing but that could be coming, considering he is 33 and heading into the final year of his contract. Chicago, according to league sources, is open to reshaping its roster with guard Zach LaVine as the clear No. 1 go-to option.”

Would it make sense for the Chicago Bulls to trade DeMar DeRozan?

Again, the Bulls are stuck in mediocrity, as they have been for a few years now. There was that short period of time where they were atop the Eastern Conference, but then all hell broke loose.

Between the Lonzo Ball injury and Billy Donovan’s woes as a coach (who was unjustly extended last year, by the way), the Bulls began to unravel.

The Suns, of course, are coming off a disappointing playoff exit and have been involved in a lot of whispers recently. Those whispers tend to revolve around the Suns either moving on from point guard Chris Paul, and/or big man Deandre Ayton.

The most likely scenario is that Phoenix finds a home for Ayton, who could use a fresh start. I think anyone remotely interested in the Suns, or the NBA in general, senses that fact. Ayton getting a new scene, fresh beginning and a shot to prove himself as a former no. 1 overall pick would be good for him. The Suns could also use that cap relief.

Do these two teams strike a deal, giving Ayton a new beginning in Chicago and making the Suns a likely title favorite going into next season? It would be an interesting deal for both sides, but maybe the Suns give up a pick along with Ayton’s contract, too.

Phoenix would be potentially rolling out with Chris Paul, Devin Booker, DeMar DeRozan and Kevin Durant, along with whomever they have playing center. That is one heck of a lineup, and would be extremely difficult to beat for any opposing team.
