Chicago Bears: 3 unfair expectations for Justin Fields in 2023

Unfair expectation for Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields: Win the NFL MVP
Just a week or so ago, ESPN analyst and ex-player Dan Orlovsky went on-air and gave a few reasons why Fields will be in the MVP conversation in 2023. While I admire the bold take, and it would elate Bears fans, that’s probably not going to be the case. This year, we’re going to see a huge jump, yes. But, to expect Fields to win the MVP is a bit unrealistic, and unfair.
However, seeing Fields lead the Bears to a winning record in a conference that could see a few wide-open Wildcard spots? That’s doable.
Fair expectation for Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields: Lead the Bears to a winning record
If Fields takes the leap we think he can, there’s no reason to suggest the Bears cannot win nine games this coming season. A 9-8 record wouldn’t be other-worldly, but it would be a drastic improvement upon a season which saw this team end up with the number one pick and worst record in football.
Fields has everything set before him and if he can take hold of it, and make a similar jump to Hurts, Josh Allen or even Tua Tagovailo, then the Bears should end up with a solid nine-win season.
