Trade Number 2: The Chicago Bulls swap centers with the Suns

Let’s make a few more assumptions before digging into this second trade. We know that the rumors state the Suns could be looking to move Deandre Alton to a new team, allowing him a fresh start.

Also, before this deal could happen, the Bulls would again have to move DeMar DeRozan somewhere else in order to absorb a larger salary.

In this trade, the Suns are able to get a starting center to replace Ayton, while the Bulls get a much younger option at the position. Phoenix also gets a future first-round pick in addition to one of the better starting big men in the league. This allows the Suns to stay in contention behind the likes of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, while keeping the five spot held down with a former All Star like Vucevic.

If the Bulls have moved DeRozan, they now have a core featuring youth like Ayton, LaVine and again, we assume, Coby White. Would that be enough to compete for a championship? Probably not. But, at least Chicago would be attempting to get younger and try to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.
